Payton has more than 10 years of industry experience evaluating unconventional opportunities across numerous Mid-Continent and East/South Texas plays. Prior to joining Black Swan, Payton worked in various Exploration, Development and Business Development roles at LINN Energy with focus on the Anadarko Basin, East Texas Basin, Los Angeles Basin, Arkoma Basin, and North Louisiana Salt Basin. Most recently, Payton worked on the Exploration and Development team overseeing LINN’s SCOOP/STACK/MERGE assets. Payton earned his BS in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
